Almost got scammed

Just wanna share my experience that I had when I was trying to sell something off on Mudah.my. Mudah is a portal which allows you to post up free advertisement to sell or to rent out your goods. JH and I just bought new phones last weekend so he thought of selling off his old iPhone 5 through Mudah. We posted an advertisement on Sunday and guess what? We received calls and messages from more than 20 people within 2 hours. That was crazy. It was beyond our expectation and we managed to close the deal with a Malay uncle on Monday night. So we thought, hey, why not sell other goods that we don't use anymore?

So we posted up an advertisement of a Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth 2 tablet and someone did send me a message. I replied that person via e-mail and he was asking if I could help him check the postage fee to Lagos, Nigeria because he wanted to post the device to his son as a birthday gift. Plus he also mentioned that he is currently in the UK. *Scam alert!* I did google the postage fee and Google literally saved me because the title 'SCAMS! Don't ship to Nigeria' caught my attention, so I clicked onto the link. It turns out that there had been cases of scams happening over the years and I was lucky enough to realise it before anything unfortunate happens.

According to the people who were scammed, the scammer would inform the seller that they have already transferred the money to the seller's PayPal account. Subsequently the seller would receive a fake e-mail (which looks real because it has the seller's information and also the PayPal logo in that e-mail) from 'PayPal' confirming the transfer. The seller would then dispatch the goods. End of story.

The SMS which I had received earlier.

His reply in e-mail after I contacted him via e-mail.

A friend of mine just sent me two voice recordings on Whatsapp regarding scams through calls. The latest technique is to hypnotise you through calls so that you would reveal all the bank account information to that person. It's actually happening now in Jalan Ipoh, KL.

Scams. Scams everywhere. Be careful and stay safe, everybody.

Bangkok Itinerary (2/5/15-5/5/15)

Hello! I'm back again. Recently there had been some issues which I had to take care of and glad to say that I'm clear of what I want now. Just hoping to find a new replacement for my current room right now. I really want to get out from there. Living alone is really bad especially when your pay is just enough for you to survive and yet you're required to make certain financial commitments. Some people or should I say, spoiled brats, just wouldn't understand this because they still receive financial support from their parents. Good for you but good luck to you in the future though.

Anyways, enough of that. Let's talk about something happy! I've finally completed my itinerary for Bangkok and I'm dying to share it here. It's just a draft and it's not finalised yet. This trip would be a really short one so I really hope to incorporate some shopping and also sight-seeing in it. A tough one because JH and the brother don't deal well with the sun. Haha. So more shopping and less sight-seeing I guess. :P

Flight in the morning on our last day so our only plan for that day is to wake up and go straight to the airport.

I'll update the details of the trip once the trip is over! Hopefully 2 months from now I'm still as free as I am right now because I did all the drafting and researching of the trip during work. HAHA. The pro of being a junior auditor in an internal audit department is that you really have almost close to nothing to do.

Let me show you the hotel we're staying. We're staying at At Mind Executive Suites at Sukhumvit. Good reviews on Agoda and Booking.com so I really hope it doesn't disappoint. However, if I were to go to Bangkok again, I would probably stay at Siam area because most of the major shopping malls are near there. But I'm still happy with my choice though. No regrets for now. :)

These are the websites which helped me a lot throughout my process of drafting my itinerary.

You can find information on the BTS SkyTrain fare and route maps on these two websites.

You can find the complete guide of public transports in Bangkok, or how to transfer to and from the airport on this website.

I hope that the information helps! :)

Loneliness is killing me

Middle of March.I've been working for 2 months now and things are okay so far. The only problem I have now is with my housemates. That's also the sole reason why I'm quite unhappy these few days. The first day sleeping there alone was rather emotional. I was so heavy-hearted to leave JH's house. Even though I still go back there on weekends, it doesn't feel the same anymore. I AM independent. I just need some time to adjust.

Being alone these few days made me realise that I used to be spending quite some time alone back in Penang. Maybe the main difference is that I have family and friends there so I didn't feel the same kind of loneliness that I'm experiencing right now. I was so certain that I wouldn't be homesick but I'm not so sure anymore. At times like this, emotional stability is crucial. Once you're so gloomy and pessimistic about everything, things will start falling apart, and that's when you know that you're done with being alone. I always thought that being alone and feeling lonely is the same thing but I'm wrong. I do enjoy my alone time; be it shopping alone, eating alone or even watching movie at the cinema alone. Loneliness is different. Sometimes I would feel really lonely even when I'm surrounded by people. I would feel that nobody understands me and nobody is there for me. When that happens, I really don't know what to do. Yeah, I'm feeling lonely now as I'm typing this....

I want to travel solo. I think that would help me to be a stronger person. I don't have the guts to do that yet but who knows that one day I might be able to accomplish that, right?

My birthday this year was.. Yeah. But thankfully I have 2 groups of friends who took time to celebrate with me. That made me feel so much better. This year's birthday made me realise that your birthday is just another ordinary day. Nothing special. It was special back then but it isn't special anymore starting from this year onwards. Please don't let 23 be the worst year of my life. Yeah, screw birthdays.

P.S. The issue is about priority, and it always will be.
